KANE COUNTY CHIEFS OF POLICE ASSOCIATION
MEETING MINUTES
I. Call to Order: President Jim Linane called the January 18, 2007 Installation Dinner Meeting to order at 7:01 p.m.
II. Pledge of Allegiance: President Linane led the Association in the Pledge of Allegiance.
III. Order of Business:
President Linane presented first reading of the by-laws for approval at the February 15, 2007 meeting. He stated that copies have been provided to be reviewed. Also presented for review was the budget summary worksheet for fiscal year 2006.
IV. Suspension of Meeting:
President Linane entertained a motion to suspend the Regular Meeting of the Association for the Annual Installation Dinner. Chief Merritt so moved. Chief Callahan seconded the motion. Voice vote was unanimous. Motion carried. The meeting was suspended at 7:06 p.m.
V. Business:
President Linane reconvened the meeting at 7:52 p.m. Member Pena introduced the following dignitaries and officials that joined the evening's events:

President Linane presented the 2007 recipient of the President's Award to Commander Joe Frega, Geneva Police Department, for his continued dedication to the Association. President Linane noted his leadership role in overseeing fundraising for Special Projects Pena, as well as the golf outing events. Commander Frega thanked the Association stating it is an honor serving. He stated that the success is a team effort.
Chief Pena introduced Chief Judge Donald Hudson who presided over the swearing in of the new officers; specifically:
- Chief Dan Callahan, Wayne PD President
- Commander Joe Frega, Geneva PD Vice President
- Chief James Lamkin, St. Charles PD Secretary
- Chief (Ret.) Edward Dennis, West Dundee PD Treasurer
- Deputy Chief Anderson, Aurora PD Sergeant at Arms
President Callahan addressed the Association stating he looks forward to serving the Chiefs in the next year and continuing on with the works in progress. He expressed deep thanks and appreciation to the President and Board of Trustees of Wayne, his wife DonnaLee, his son Sean, members of the Wayne Police Department, friends, family and members of the Association for their past and current support. President Callahan presented President Linane with an award for his service as President of the Kane County Chiefs of Police Association in 2006. Chief Linane thanked the Association for the past year and their support recognizing the great group of colleagues he has the privilege of working with. He looks forward to continuing to serve.
VI. Adjournment
Chief Merritt made a motion to adjourn the meeting. Chief Linane seconded the motion. Meeting adjourned at 8:09 p.m.
